In a great warm up game for this weekend's 2nd leg of the 2 Capitals Cup against the St Pete White (K)nights, the Dragons managed to beat Mifi with a 27 point margin on Saturday.
Team: Danila/Oleg/Maksim - Vitaly – Kostya/Volodya; Damien – Eric; Sasha Volodin – Jacques – Konrad/Sergey Antohin; – Ginger Johnie – Misha; – Sasha Tsvetkov – Tony Bell/Tyson; – Vladimir – Dima/Tony Bell – Rem; Valya, Roman, one more With 23 players turning up for the game at Nauka, nice warm weather on a hard and dry pitch the scene was set for some great running (and on Mifi's side kicking) game. Unfortunately there was a bit of a scramble before the game as the normal reliable Tyson got stuck in traffic due to Moscow day celebration resulting in the game being started without kit. Tyson however did manage to make up for this by scoring 3 tries after coming on the field at half time. Further try scorers including the usual of Sasha Tsvetkov (2 tries), Tony Bell (think only 1 try... disappointing), the less than usual, Sasha Volodin (2 tries), and the highly unlikely (being French and all), Eric with a well worked forward push over try. Mifi was kept in the game by the kicking boot of the ex-Dragon Napoleon and the rest of his team, including their forwards(!), a area where we really need to work on before this weekend's game as similar tactics will again be employed by St. Pete.
