The Annual Valentine's Ball of the Moscow Dragons RFC is primarily focused on two aims. Firstly, of course, to provide guests with an entertaining evening and the chance to get to know Moscow's finest male Rugby team, sinking more than just a few beers and partaking in silly dancing you hope no-one records for prosperity (but inevitably will!). But secondly, and perhaps more importantly, in helping to raise money for those in this world less fortunate than us, namely the orphans supported by the charity “Maria’s Children”. This is a wonderful charity run by Maria Yeliseyeva, where children from orphanages in and around the Moscow area are given a chance to express themselves and learn happiness through the medium of art. This is the fourth year that the Dragons have supported Maria’s Children and it is a charity that is very close to our hearts. The “fun rugby day” that we organise for the children in summer is proof of that, and we I am proud to tell you that, to date, the Dragons have raised nearly $25,000 for Maria and her deserving children.
