Yes, you read well – The Moscow Dragons have thrashed the Forum MGTU with 11 tries and only 3 (!) conversions. First good point, almost every one was on time and the selection committee was faced with dilemma choices: a luxury it likes – keep on being there lads and the emulation will work…and the selection committee looks forward to see the likes of Micky B, Tyson, Plumby, Jacques, Dickie, Albertus and all those absent to be back in the squad to be able to compete against bigger oppositions such as FILI or Slava… Yes, the opposition was pretty average and enabled us to score quickly on a hard field in rather cold conditions (the least one can say…) Key events of the day saw a new frog, Frederic, score a try on his debut, touching his first ball of the game, Piotr ‘Campo’ Pertsov score the last try of the day after a 50 meters run, impressive, Tony Bell going back to basics with a hat trick, Alan Ward manipulating the rotations with talent (5 frogs on the pitch at a certain point) and a nice Marseillaise sung during the award session when the trophy was handed over…hey, hey, hey…I like the way the Dragons are evolving… Post-match, the Saturday Committee to respect a French tradition, went on strike but that doesn’t matter as the Deputy Chairman of the Saturday Committee always quotes ” The Saturday Committee ain’t nothing to do with the Club, g’luck”, so if it wants to strike, it strikes… |
